TRICK #1: USE THE BATTLEFIELD.

Place monsters where they can attack best. Fast-moving monsters are are best equipped for long rooms and tunnels, while small rooms are better for slower ones.

 

TRICK #2: TWEAK YOUR MONSTERS.

Monsters can attack better if you change their stats. For example, a line-of-sight on a stone warrior makes it much deadlier in long tunnels.

 

TRICK#3: KEEP IT QUICK.

Some arrangements act too fast for the invader to change their train of thought, thus making them liable to fall into a devious trap. Using Head Throwers and Mummies is a good way to distract the intruder while pit lurkers and flame jets fire up.

 

TRICK #4: PLAY TO YOUR PLAYER'S STRENGTHS.

An advancing collumn of mummies can stone warriors is a good way to keep people out of rooms that are "off limits". Certain monsters, while almost pathetic in ones and pairs, can be dangerous in great numbers. Others, like the speedy Spider, prefer to have the field clear.
