Ah, the Stung Man. A Death Walker with a ferocious will. If you think your parents are stubborn when they make you sit down and do your homework, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
The Stung Man, when he was alive, was a master jewel thief—that is, until the pharaoh’s men came after him. They chased him all over Egypt and finally cornered him in the desert, where the thief hid in a small cave.
For a moment, he must have thought he’d escaped. Home free.
And that’s when he heard the sound of skittering legs.
The cave was full of scorpions.
As the scorpions stung him all over his body, he refused to cry out, refused to give away his hiding spot. He chose death over capture. Stubborn. Brave. Maybe too stubborn and too brave.
And over the thousands of years that have passed since, as he clung to the edge of the worlds between life and the afterlife, his soul warped and twisted. The scorpion poison festered in his body, so that any trace of human kindness that was left in his soul was leeched out, and the biting toxins replaced the blood in his veins, and he became a true Death Walker: determined to make it back into the world of the living and get his revenge.
